About this Training
The MDHHS Division of Victim Services (DVS), in collaboration with the Michigan Victim Advocacy Network (MiVAN), is very excited to announce the launch of our UPDATED Confidentiality course: Understanding the Confidentiality Requirements of VOCA, VAWA, and FVPSA!
This updated course will help advocates learn how to handle survivor/client information. It covers topics such as:- personal and identifying information,
- releases of information,
- mandated disclosures, and
- specific details covering the scope of the regulations.
- Plus, learn a helpful mnemonic and plenty of interactive learning opportunities
Training on confidentiality is mandatory for all DVS grant-funded direct service staff, contractors, and volunteers within the first year of service, however, this course is also available to those who have completed prior versions of the course.
